The Drop

I don’t even know why, but suddenly an idea was born in me. To create a droplet and inside it, a curled-up baby. However, there was no baby available for the shoot, so I took a slightly older one – myself. Well, to capture a water droplet perfectly sharp isn’t exactly easy… so I thought of photographing a bubble from a bubble wand, which is, after all, a bit larger. And then some playing around in Photoshop, and it was done.

When I look at that picture now, almost 20 years later, after two kids, I see many different associations. From a fetal sac to the Matrix. Anyway, there are no limits to interpretations…
